“I had high hopes for this hotel when I saw it was a Marriott and usually have great experiences. Both kids and I were woken up multiple times our first night by the person above us. Spoke to the front desk the next night and when we asked to see if we could move to the second floor, they assured us that the guest had checked out and the room was “out of order” so no one would be above us. About 2hrs later we heard lots of noise again that woke up the kids. I went back out and spoke to another person at the desk and they told us someone had checked in an hour ago. Very frustrating that we weren’t told the truth about the room and neither woman offered up an apology. Typically Marriott has incredible guest services but this has been the opposite of that experience and quite a costly room to get woken up multiple times and not be told the truth.”

“When I stayed there they were in the middle of a big time renovation. I'm sure they'll end up making it a lot nicer than I experienced.
Location will probably be the reason you end up staying here... it's proximity to the racetrack along with being walking distance to a bunch of restaurants make this a nice place to set up camp around Del Mar. It might be your best entry to mid-level hotel without comparing to some of the big five-star locations up the street.”
