Our experience was not what we expected for the price we paid. Positive points: the swimming pool and location. Negative points: the food at the pool, it took 1 hour for 2 burgers, the burgers were not good quality. They said the parking in front should make a 30% of discount as we were guests (when we arrive to the parking they said the discount were expired).

We booked the Arsenal Hotel for a week. In sum this is NOT a 4 star hotel. This should be a 3 star or less.1)Upon arrival the hotel is not the hotel they advertise and not the one I booked. The website says it’s called arsenal, when I arrived the address was different from google maps and instead it’s a hotel called allure chocolat.2) they said the internet would be 100mps, and instead it was either slow or not working. Then the power started going on and off.3) they sent us a letter saying the power would be off for an entire day, and I need to work from my laptop. See photo.4) the room was in poor condition. As u can see in the photos the shower door was just totally missing, water would flood the room when used, which added to the humidity issue. Also the shower knobs were just broken and missing. Look at the photos!5) there was some sort of leak coming from the outside pouring water into the ground next to the window, it was loud all night and created further humidity. Look at the video.I was very dissatisfied, feel as I have been scammmed into a hotel that was not as advertised, and defrauded. By the 3rd night we had to leave, because I needed internet to work, wirh power and actual internet.I asked for a full refund. And will go to my credit card company if necessary. Instead the hotel just told us they would give us nothing. Not even the nights we left. So here I am writing this review to warn other, just save the headache and stay at the Hyatt, much better hotel and not a scam.

The location of the hotel can’t be any better. It is between the old city and Getsemani. Best of both worlds. Rooms are modern and clean. Breakfast was very good and included. My room was very quiet. The lower level rooms just face a wall. If you must have a view book one of the more expensive rooms.

I had a very disappointing experience at Hotel Arsenal, Cartagena Colombia. Unfortunately, my favourite earrings were STOLEN. I was very careful and followed the instructions given by the staff members to put everything on the safe box when we were not in the hotel room. However, one morning I forgot to put the earrings back into the safe - I had put them on my bedside table before going to sleep. I was hoping to find them where I left them when I came back into the room - as it is a highly recommended hotel with a rating of 8.5 on Booking.com. I was not expecting that my belongings were going to be stolen. I reported the incident with the manager at reception, who kindly helped me looking for them in the room - again. But unfortunately we were not lucky to find them. They opened a case, in which they stated "I had lost them when I left for breakfast". This information was not accurate and it just verifies that the earrings were taken by the staff members - as the hotel room was not accessible for anyone else but the guests and the staff. You can't really trust an establishment where your belongings go missing and nobody can explain how it happened. I am sharing this story as I would not want anyone else to go through the stressful situation of not really knowing your stuff is safe, or whether people are going to take it while you are absent. Very disappointed and disheartened by this awful experience.

Cute boutique hotel. With the rooftop pool and walking distance to the old city. Nice personal.You need to have earplugs, because it is loud outside. Lack of towels. If you ask for extra towels for the room, they look at you like something wrong with you.

I just spent a week in Cartagena at the formally named Allure Chocolat hotel, but now rebranded as Arsenal Hotel.New name, same excellent service.The Arsenal Hotel is located in the popular and vibrant Getsemani area of Cartagena.A short walk to the Clock Tower and Walled City and more restaurants, bars, clubs and shipping than anyone can handle.When it comes to location, Arsenal Hotel is perfectly located.The hotel has a rooftop bar and pool deck with beautiful views of the bay.I spent time at the pool daily, enjoying beers and good food from their poolside menu.Try the chicken wings or mini burgers. The bartenders on duty made sure a good variety of music was playing as well from American to Latin beats, always a good vibe.The breakfast restaurant, located on the first floor, offers a small variety of self-serve fruits, yogurt, breads, etc. buffet-style.It may seem like a small variety, but don’t let that fool you.You can order eggs, bacon and more from one of the wonderful restaurant servers.I ordered an omelet and side of bacon 2 days, huevos rancheros another day and Huevos Pericos a couple of times.All made to order and delicious.Excellent chef! They serve delicious Colombian coffee as well.If you are visiting from out of the country, be sure to ask at reception about scheduling your pre-flight Covid test.Alfonso was very helpful scheduling my test the day before my flight.The tester comes to the hotel and to your room to perform the test.I was charged 170,000 COP ($43) for my test.You must pay in cash.I received my results via WhatsApp in about 4 hours. During my stay I was so impressed by some of the staff I started writing down all of their names.The hotel staff here treat you like family and friends and it makes it easier to interact with them.Some spoke English very well, some the English was only enough to greet and answer basic questions, which was fine.I used the translator app on my phone a few times and that worked well.Many of the staff made such an impression on me and helped enhance my time at the hotel that I would like to mention them all now.A special thank you to excellent reception and management staff Alfonso and Jesús.These guys always ready to answer questions and help with any topic with a positive and energetic attitude.Next, I would like to thank the beautiful and friendly bartenders Rosa María and Luz Marína.I looked forward to seeing them each day and enjoying their fun personalities by the pool (also in the breakfast restaurant in the morning).Finally, I would like to thank the very handsome men on the pool deck Juan Camilo and Jorge.Juan Camilo worked the afternoon/evening bartender shift and has a fun personality, along with an additive smile (when he lowered his mask).It was fun to hang out by the pool when he was on duty.Jorge works the pool deck keeping the area safe and clean and even though he doesn’t talk much, he was always friendly and helpful.This hotel is now my go to hotel in Cartagena and I will be back to enjoy more time with my new friends in 2022.Please keep up the amazing work Arsenal Hotel team!I look forward to seeing all of you again.

While the nice hotel is nice, there are some major flaws here. Firstly the staff seems be a bit undertrained. When asked where the breakfast is being served the front desk was not even aware it was no longer on the first floor. I inquired about getting new towels twice over the phone and did not receive any. The hotel also seems to host private party events on weekends that go until 2am. It is loud enough to be heard through out the whole hotel. It seems like the hotel would prioritize these private events over the comfort of their other guests. If you value your sleep I would not recommend booking here on weekends.

Booked this hotel via Booking.com for New Year's Eve but now, months later, they rejected my credit card so I provided them with another one and sent them a message to ask whether everything was fine. They didn't reply to my message and just rejected the second card and later also the third one and then cancelled the booking from their side (all within 30 hours). There is no issue with my cards and never has been. They did this I imagine so they can get someone else to book and pay a lot more than what I paid when I got a more or less reasonable price when I booked 5 months in advance (~200 USD for one night on Dec 31st). Now I'm left with no comparable options and every nice hotel already fully booked for new year's eve and might cancel the trip to Cartagena. A very disappointing experience with this hotel. No value.

Funcionários e piscina são os pontos fortes do hotel. Ótimo atendimento por todos e dedicados para auxiliar. A piscina é o destaque com uma bela vista, principalmente para um por-do-sol. A academia é básica, esteira e alguns alteres. A localização também é ótima, próximo às cidade amuralhada e principais pontos turísticos e restaurantes.

Amazing staff and location! The staff will go above and beyond to accommodate you. I can’t express how pleased I was with the staff. The location is great for going to tours at the dock. It's a quick walk. You're also a quick walk to the clock tower and other points of interest. This location is a hotel, so don't confuse this with other Karisma resorts. It has a small rooftop pool with a bar restaurant with light bites. The room mini bar has a charge so be careful taking something for consumption. If you're used to the AI in many places, you're used to pulling a beverage from the fridge not thinking about a per item charge. But considering things are very inexpensive, go ahead and enjoy. One thing I found odd is the rooms are not stocked with washcloths. I had to request them daily and even thought they take them when cleaning the room, they don't replenish them. So bring washcloths with you. The area is very safe although on a very busy street. The traffic is a nightmare and if you're on the wrong side of the building, you'll hear every party bus, transit bus, taxi horn, etc. Even at night. So go for the bay view room. Overall my stay was excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Allure chocolat....my birthday celebration and first time in Cartagena was met with great hospitality. Discovered my love for Colombian coffee. Absolutely loved the views from their rooftop bar with infinity pool. The staff was beyond accommodating and was helpful with all of our requests. Thank you to Alphonso, Karen and the rest of your team. I'll be sure to always recommend Allure.

I'm enjoying this gem that sits just outside the Old Town wall. It's very reasonably priced and the staff is very nice and accommodating. I have Never had a room turned over so fast, ever and I used to work for Marriott and stayed at several of their properties. Beautifully situated and the rooftop pool/bar area is nice.

Everything was perfect!!! Location is great, just a few blocks from la Ciudad Amurallada. Staff is so kind and attentive to needs (Kevin from the front desk help us a lot). Rooftop pool is amazing and the view is just perfect!!! Highly recommend!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Upon arrival we were kindly greeted by the hotel valet Alfonso, check in process with reception was easy and quick.The concierge Yesid also welcomed us promptly and offeredany help we might need such as booking local activities, restaurants and else.At first we got a Double Superior room (as per our reservation) which was nice and did the job, it had enough space for 2 friends on an 8 day vacation.Later on, Reception approached us and stated that they were having some water issues (we never noticed) and that they’d upgrade us to a bigger room with no charge. This upgrade was magnifique!Near the end of our stay there was a very long power outage in the city which didn’t affect anything ‘cause the power generator started right away.Cleaning / COVID measures: Rooms were always cleaned sharply, we saw and had complete trust on that. Sanitation stickers were placed on rooms after cleaning.ALL Hotel staff waswearing masks around each other and other people at all times. Never caught them off guard in this, not once.All guests were highly encouraged to wear mask protection at all times in common areas except during breakfast (it’s an open space) or during your time at the pool or terrace. Both rooms we stayed in had clothes iron and table available in the closets as well as hairdryer and hair straightener.Multiple light controls for both bed sides. Hotel Minibar was refilled daily.There’s a tiny but nice gym with an elliptical machine and a treadmill as well as dumbbells. Highlights: - Small private Balcony with colorful street views including a key local plaza. (Will miss waking up to this!) Bathroom considerably nicer and bigger. Double the closet space (all this with the room upgrade). Comfy bed and big enough TV with Direct-TV if you care for those things on a beach city! - Very nice enough breakfast. - All of the staff was warm, very polite and helpful 100% of the time. Even made us feel like at home. They all deserve sincere congratulations. - Wonderful pool on a terrace with ocean view and cocktail bar and fast & local food served on the terrace, with live Dj on weekends!From the staff: our special thanks to all, specially: reception, the terrace and breakfast staff!! My friend and I paid for a day pass (2/4/21) for the rooftop pool area and we were not disappointed! The service was impeccable, and the food & drinks were yummy! It is a great place to relax, do work, sun-bathe, enjoy the view, and swim. Worth every penny, especially because you get to put the money for the day pass towards your food and drinks. Even the doorman, front desk lady, and concierge man were super nice and attentive! A localização do hotel é privilegiada, pois está a 300 metros da porta principal da cidade amuralhada, muito boa para andar, na Calle 7 onde pode ser feito câmbio seguro e justo. Muito próximo do centro velho onde pode-se jantar no "Di Silvio", pastas e pizzas excelente com preços razoáveis.

Incredibly disappointed. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. Our trip was cancelled due to COVID and they are giving no refunds whatsoever. They have held onto our money for over a year now for a trip we were forced to cancel due to a global pandemic. Very unprofessional and disappointing.

So far Allure Chocolat has been *AMAZING*!! Its a very nice, very clean establishment. All employees that we have come in contact with are very nice. Shout-out to Angie at the front desk for helping me download a food delivery app so I could order a pepperoni pizza. The concierge is great too! Very friendly, though we have not had to use his services since we have a tour guide. My group has not had any complaints. I recommend this place and would give it more stars if I could.

Our stay started a bit bumpy without AC broken and sink clogged. But they switched 9ur room and our stay was great after that!

Nice Little roof top & pool. Dj was good. Drinks and food excellent!! Service was great, very attentive and thoughtful, rare in cartagena. Overall a good experience.

This is an excellent hotel. Would like to commend Kelly at the front desk and Alfonso who is very knowledgeable bell hop and concierge who recommended two excellent restaurants and was super nice. Also the bar staff at the pool were great and the breakfast crew. The one thing about this hotel i didn’t like was the other guests who were American and loud and annoying at times. So if you’re American and annoying and loud and reading this review don’t stay at this chill and relaxing boutique hotel because people like me don’t want you around. But seriously, this is a terrific hotel in a great location near the convention center and walking distance from the walled city and also within walking distance of the very cool spots in Getsemani as well.

Lugar de primera, cocina de autor y la vista desde la piscina es maravillosa.

La ubicación es estratégica. Muy cerca del centro, con una hermosa vista a la bahía y a la Torre del Reloj, desde la terraza. El hotel es boutique, aunque un poco caro, con bellos y acogedores ambientes e incluso puedes decidir el aromatizador para tu habitación. El personal es muy atento. El restaurante es A1. Lo mejor en carnes.

Quarto nao foi limpo. Piscina que disseram funcionar ate 22 hs, as 20 hs estao jogando cloro e limpando. Todos pedem desculpas mas pelo preço não entregam o que prometem. Estive em maio 2019.Tem opções melhores. Na piscina no dia que chegamos saímos sem ser atendidos pois um único garçon não dava conta de sequer nos trazer um copo para a cerveja.

Vou falar da minha experiência, e como sempre, serei cuidadoso e sincero... Estou neste momento deitado na cama do hotel Allure Chocolat, pois Cartagena está pegando fogo. No quarto que estou, me decepcionei bastante, o banheiro está faltando uma porta do box, molha tudo quando tomo banho, solicitei um tapete de saída de banho a mais,porém, todos os dias tenho que solicitar, pois quando termino o banho,o primeiro tapete está todo molhado, uso ele para secar o banheiro e troco pelo que está seco. Falei sobre o problema na recepção e sem muita preocupação, me informaram que foi um assistente e que outros quartos estão da mesma forma. A luz que serve para iluminar o armário, estava piscando, pedi para trocar, trocaram de pronto e horas depois, voltou a piscar, desisti, aceitei minha boite particular. Alguns itens do banheiro não estão funcionando, como o varal para secar pequenas peças e peças íntimas, o porta toalha de rosto, está solto, já caiu duas vezes, passei a ter MUITO cuidado e a pia está rachada. Porém há coisas que me agradaram muito, os travesseiros são maravilhosos, a cama larga, gostosa, maravilhosa,a televisão com muitos canais a cabo, o ar condicionado, cortina blecaute, também mimos de banheiro e acima de tudo, os funcionários,o que faz total diferença neste hotel. Em fim, me hospedaria aqui novamente, pela localização, tratamento e vantagens relatadas acima, porém, pedirei para ver a habitação primeiro.

Estuve en el Restaurante Red Knife. Es caro pero vale la pena. El rib eye es espectacular, el rissoto de camarones también. Las instalaciones son muy buenas y una ventaja grandísima es que tiene parqueadero justo en frente lo cual es muy difícil encontrar en Cartagena. Si pides carne obviamente te dan un cuchillo de mango rojo.
