Um hotel muito bom a todos os níveis. Muito amplo e muitas árvores e zonas verdes nas quais podemos encontrar Cutias (roedores), macacos, esquilos entre outros o que torna engraçado o hotel. Restaurantes temáticos bastante bons e também o buffet tanto ao almoço como ao pequeno almoço com bastante variedade. Piscina principal grande e mais uma perto do lobby mais pequena mas também mais tranquila, piscina/bar podia ser um pouco maior mas serve perfeitamente, a 2 passos de uma praia espetacular (se não tiverem azar de apanhar sargaço que infelizmente é comum). Uma falha é a música na zona da piscina não estar a tocar todo o dia. Ótimos quartos e espaçosos. Tem bebidas e frigorífico no quarto, secador cabelo, tábua passar a ferro, ferro, tv, cofre e guarda chuva. Não hesitem se estão com dúvidas de escolher este hotel. E para quem quer estar ligado as redes sociais o Wifi apanha toda a zona do Hotel e chega ao mar e cada quarto tem direito a dois acessos.

Es una pena, lo visité en 2008 antes de volver este año,antes era mucho más bonito ya que era decoracióncolonial y tras la reforma sigue siendo muy anticuado,habitaciones muy frías,nada acogedoras,con luces blancas que lo hace parecer un hospital, la cama estupenda, grande y cómoda, las almohadas están muy bien. Echamo mucho en falta que no pongan nada en tocador, en todos los buenos hoteles ponen, gorro de baño,pequeños costureros, jabones de manos, gel de ducha, champú, body Milk, aquí se limitan a una pastilla o dos de jabón de manos, y undispensador dentro de la ducha de gel y champú,dos en uno, el cual es malisimo, menos mal que siempre llevo mi propio champú,tuvimos que comprar gel de ducha y loción hidratante. La cantidad de agua que sale de la ducha es bastante deficiente, apenas sale agua y cuando lo hace es con mínima presión. La comida bastante regular frente a otros resorts. Por lo demás muy limpio y el aire acondicionado funciona muy bien, el servicio de los empleados muy bien. En cuanto a la ubicación es estupenda por lo cerca que está de Playa del Carmen y la quinta avda, además en Playacar hay upequeño centro comercial donde se pueden alquilar patinetes eléctricos para ir hasta Playa del Carmen,la hora son 8 dolares y el día completo 25$. La playa aunque tenía sargazo muy bien porque lo retiraban los empleados todo el día.

Hemos estado ahí un total de 8 días, y aunque es verdad que las habitaciones deberían tener una pequeña reforma para actualizarlas, todo lo demás ha sido perfecto. El trato del personal increíble, todos muy atentos y educados. La comida de todos los restaurantes muy buena. Lo bueno que tieneRIU es que puedes movertepor todos los que están cerca. Volveríamos a repetir sin dudarlo

Estuve con mi pareja de luna de miel y la verdad que estuvimos muy a gusto.Lo que más nos gustó: variedad en restaurantes con cosas diferentes cada día, playa muy limpia, buena atención por parte del personal y entorno muy bonito (además muy cerca para ir caminando al centro dePlaya del Carmen).Lo que menos nos gustó: la habitación estaba bien pero no para ser un 5 estrellas. Esperábamos otra cosa. Tampoco nos gustó que las piscinas están muy muy calientes (no sabemos si esto es algo extendido a otros hoteles, pero desde luego demasiado caliente para refrescarnos).

Para ser un 5 estrellas , las habitaciones están bastante antiguas. Ofrecen actividades acuáticas gratuitas que al final hemos realizado contratando a otra empresa porque la que colaborada con el hotel es muy poco profesional y lo único que hacen es darte largas. La playa sucisima llena de sargazo todos Los días,lo que buscas en un destino como Playa del Carmen es poder disfrutar de aguas cristales y no marrones..Cero recomendable, para no repetir.

Hemos pasado unas muy buenas vacaciones en este hotel en el Caribe Mexicano. Vamos a destacar que es un hotel de playa y en el Caribe. Es decir naturaleza se impone antes que el lujo. Las habitaciones son mejorables y la humedad es más típica de la zona que de las habitaciones, es imposible no sentir olor a humedad y sentir la típica humedad del caribe en la piel. La comida es muy buena en todos sus restaurantes. Es muy mejorable la atención al cliente es constante la ideología de sacar ventaja con las propinas y hacen una gran diferencia con los turistas americanos a los españoles ( estos dejan más propinas ). El hotel en general esta muy bien y además tienes accesos a sus tres hoteles que están a pie de playa, el Yukantan es el mejor. Resumen: Buen hotel para ir en familia , sin grandes lujos , buena comida y servicios en general y una atención al cliente mejorable.

A number of things went wrong here. At first the toilet in our room didn’t flush so we had to get a plumber in once to fix it. It then broke again so had to get the plumber in a second time. Secondly, our shower was temperamental and never went the right temperature, only super warm or freezing cold. Then our safe with all of our excursion tickets, my laptop, and our passports would not open so we had to get a technician in for over an hour while he tried to open it (he said it was pure luck that he managed to open it - he wasn’t even a licensed technician - just the restaurant manager). The food has been very average and after two weeks we got so bored of it, as it is the same food every day with no variety. The cleaning ladies took our hand soap and took ages to bring us a new one, I had to stay in my room for all of this time as I need hand soap to wear my contact lenses. The only reason why I didn’t give it one star was the entertainer called Gustavo who was the funniest person I have ever met and made my whole holiday. Overall I am greatly disappointed with the hotel and won’t be coming back.

I stayed here in May 2022 for 11 nights and have been meaning to do a review ever since!! Honestly such an amazing resort, I would recommend this to anyone, the drinks, food, staff and vibes are amazing! Literally I cannot fault anything, the only thing I would say is it does get loud at night (until about 11pm) so maybe not a place for babies but other than that it was a totally wonderful stay. The cocktails are amazing, and the bar staff by the pool will pretty much make you anything you ask for. There are so many different restaurants, really liked the steakhouse and the main one and the lunch options in La margarita are amazing (DIY taco station), and there is a white party and neon party every Friday in Riu tequila opposite which you can attend if staying here (and also use their facilities). Hotel is on the beach so you can walk down it for a good hour also

Chegamos ao hotel no dia 15 de Maio por volta das 21:30h, fizemos o check-in e sobraram apenas uns minutos para comer no restaurante La Hacienda junto à recepção e a comida já estava meia fria. Eu e a minha mulher ficamos no quarto 9301(o mais longe da praia e piscinas) e os nossos amigos no 8303. O quarto estava com um cheiro a cloro insuportável, cheio de formigas, com os lençóis cheios de manchas, maus acabamentos, ferrugem na casa de banho, as garrafas de licor todas vazias, a bancada da casa de banho suja e com cabelos e as portas do armário cheias de marcas. Fizemos queixa na recepção mas não nos foi possível mudar de quarto naquela noite pois o hotel estava cheio mas no dia seguinte iriam fazê-lo, ainda assim pedimos para que alguém fosse fazer a cama com outros lençóis e após uma hora de espera e 3 chamadas para a recepção apareceu um miúdo com os lençóis que nos disse que nem a cama sabia fazer. No dia seguinte voltamos à recepção e foi-nos dito que nos iriam dar outro quarto, o 5303 e que um empregado iria mudar as nossas malas de quarto. Preenchemos uma queixa na recepção e às 15h o quarto estava pronto e neste parecia tudo em ordem, estava mesmo perto da praia e piscinas e por volta das 17h os macacos nas árvores junto à varanda ainda nos deram um espetáculo de acrobacias. O serviço de quartos é apenas para fazer a cama e trocar toalhas pois não limpam nada. Os empregados são todos muito simpáticos em geral, tirando um ou outro no bar na entrada que eram algo arrogantes. O resto da semana foi tranquila e ainda nos informamos acerca das actividades aquáticas a que se tem direito mas não nos foi dada uma prancha de bodyboard pois estava algum vento, o que achei algo estúpido pois foram os únicos dias em que houve ondas, sendo assim, só emprestam as pranchas se não houver ondas, o que não tem lógica nenhuma. A nível de comida é o normal neste tipo de resorts se bem que acho que na minha opinião deviam ter áreas no buffet com mais pratos já prontas e mais opção para pessoas vegan. As atividades do Staff RIU são muitas e variadas e estão sempre a interagir com as pessoas o que é muito bom. Para quem consome cocktails com gelo triturado, não aconselho pois todos nós andamos mal da barriga devido a isso. Por muitas vezes a piscina era inderditada por haver sujidade mesmo durante a manhã e tarde.

Muy buena experiencia. Nos están cuidando de lujo. Lo que me encanta es la actitud del personal. El hotel está muy bien, pero la atención que estamos recibiendo hace que estemos en la gloria. Great resort! Our room was 2 separate beds put together which was strange but it worked. They make you wear masks in outdoor restaurants but only to walk around not to sit. They also only do temperature checks at breakfast, also strange. Overall a great place and hopefully the next time we come back the mask rule will be gone!

Loved my stay here for our Honeymoon! We always had beverages on our hand and on our mini fridge. It was a lovely stay, the only thing I didn't like was that there was no ocean view, but the service was amazing, the food, the facilities, loved it! I can't wait to go back

Great beach and pool. Food was usually very good. Service was good. Rooms were awful. They smelled. Lots of broken things. Not clean. Asked several times for ac and a plumbing issue to be fixed. They never came. Luckily you don't spend all your time in a room at an all inclusive,but for the price paid the room should be better than a flea bag roadside motel. They aren't. I will spend my $$$ elsewhere next vacation. May not even look at other Riu.

We had a wonderful time here. The food was very tasty & had a lot of variety. The bartenders were all very good & extremely friendly especially Mimi, Betty, & Ismael. Betty got me coffee in the morning & Mimi our last evening cocktail. The entertainment team was really fun. All of them would do a good job of getting guests involved. Esteffani & Jazmin were a lot of fun for the evening shows but especially during the day with my kids. Don't miss the Coconut Party.

I stayed here for my first ever trip out of my country and I have to say I was not disappointed. The food was great and the staff were all so kind. We tried our best to tip as much as possible but they were not money hungry and didn't make us feel pressured to tip. I felt so comfortable there and our room was amazing. Such a beautiful resort. I will definitely stay again here if I get the chance to. They had the best shows every night and a huge party every friday, also mentioning they are very covid friendly which made me feel very safe. I am so sad to be home!

Fue 5 estrellas cuando lo inauguraron, en las habitaciones en los baños oxido en algunos sitios y cosas rotas. La limpieza buena y gente profesional. Los camareros de los restaurantes la mayoría muy agradables. La comida buena y variada.Cuidado con el timo de las habitaciones triples, cuando llegas te dicen después de pagar que donde caben dos caben tres y que es la política del hotel que son camas grandes y que nos apretemos.También creo que deberían controlar un poco el desfase de alguna gente, tuvieron que cerrar la piscina que tiene barra ya que de la castaña que tenían no controlaron sus esfínteres y se tiño de marrón el agua.No creo que vuelva demasiado desfase y poco control.

El hotel ha desmejorado mucho, la atencion no es la misma que hace unos años. No se cuidan algunos detalles de limpieza y todos es a las apuradas y sin ganas. Tuvimos mucha demora cada vez que hacian la habitación y no nos reponian los faltantes, siempre había q estar llamando para pedirlos. La comida buena, pero no es lo que era Riu hace unos años atrás, por lo menos aquí en México.

El personal de 10. Tanto camareros como animadores. La humedad se notaba en las habitaciones. Nosotras estabamos en el bloque 8 y las sabanas se notaban húmedas. La comida normalita. Los diferentes restaurantes daban comida a la carta y estaban mejor. La animación nocturna un poco justa pero justificable por oa situación del covid. La animación diurna muy variada.

Great place for winter sunshine. Nice and relaxing on the beach. The late afternoons and evenings can get loud/busy when the alcohol kicks in and the groups get vocal. Pools aren't as clean as they look, we did scuba lesson and the pool closest to the towel hut was disgusting... Avoid the swim up bar.... the group of young adults would sit there all day and never seem to need the toilet!!!! All in all, nice place. Well worth the money.

Me parece que es un buen hotel en general, pero para la categoría en la que está catalogado le fallaron un par de cosas…- No hay mesas limpias en los restaurantes, vi pasar a la chica de limpieza 4 veces por la misma mesa sucia y nunca la limpiaron.- En algunas ocasiones fuimos tratados no tan cordialmente por el personal. Respuestas frías, secas. Cuando salimos de vacaciones nos gusta que nos traten bien.- Las reglas COVID nadie las cumple… incluso los manteles de los restaurantes no los cambian, ni sanitizan.- Hay mucha gente !!- La coctelería es buena :) si dejas propina te la hacen con más amor.- En general la comida no es increíble pero cumple. El restaurante de especialidad Italiana súper bien, los meseros de ese restaurant muy lindos.- Lo que está fantástico es que a la hora que regreses siempre hay comida jajaj hasta te ponen un microondas para que te calientes una pizza (de las que sobraron obvio de la cena jajaj)

Lo pasamos muy bien.Los animalitos que se encuentran dentro del hotel, están bien cuidados. Lo único que me llamo la atención, fue que no había mosquitos, y después asocié que fumigan, y por eso todas las mañana veía en el pasillo hacia las habitaciones, muchas abejas muertas. Lo que significa que, mientras en otros lados del mundo, hacemos lo imposible para preservarlas, en Riu Yucatan de Playacar, las fumigan. Específicamente ésto, me cayó bastante mal. Entiendo que tienen que tratar de que los huéspedes lo pasen bien, pero con quese pongan repelente, estaríamos "preservando" un poco más el medio ambiente. Es mi humilde opinión. El resto, bien.

Small dumb choices in the room make it difficult to recommend. Very firm beds, 1 ply tp, no way to watch Netflix or change the input of any kind on the TV. The resort, the bars, the restaurants are nice, but the rooms frustrate. It's nice but if you like a soft bed or want to watch Netflix on the TV then look elsewhere. Trying to go to bed on a hard bed with no Netflix is difficult

Una decepción total. El peor Riu que conocí. Es un hotel explotado de pasajeros al 100% de ocupación y se suma que la playa, los bares y el buffet lo comparten con el Riu Tequila. El hotel no da a basto y tiene muy poco personal.El hotel: - Check in muy lento - Desbordado de pasajeros - No se respetan los protocolos de higiene y COVID - Las piscinas repletas y suciasLas habitaciones - Son las más chicas de todo Mexico - Viejas , sin mantenimiento - El baño muy muy viejoLa comida - Una decepción absoluta, conozco más de 14 hoteles en Mexico y este es el peor. - La comida no es digna ni de un buffet del ejército, puro papas, salchichas, arroz, fideos… bien lowcost. - Los buffet desbordado de gente y sin comida de calidad. - Los restaurantes son lo mismo que el buffet, excepto el italiano que es algo más digno - Bebidas con alcohol todas de marcas ordinarias.No vale la pena ir, es una decadencia en todo aspecto. Férias maravilhosas 💯 localização top, melhor praia sem sargaço (tivemos lá em Outubro de 2021). Água limpinho, praia limpa com muitas palmeiras :) lindíssimo. Comida no hotel maravilhosa, experimentamos todos os restaurantes e acho que para all inclusive a qualidade é mesmo muito boa. A nível de bar, top bebidas com qualidade e estão sempre atenciosos e com sugestões dependendo dos gostos. Muitas atividades durante o dia, para quem fica na piscina. A única melhoria que poderiam fazer na minha opinião era os quartos que já são antiquados. Mas ainda assim tivemos sempre confortáveis, também pouco tempo passamos nos quartos. Na parte da noite também poderiam ter mais música do que os shows para quem gosta de dançar faltou um pouco isso, mas temos de ter em conta que com o COVID não estava a 100%. No geral adoramos e voltavamos de novo amanhã 😬🤣

El hotel esta lindo, agradable, amables, tranquilo, la comida bien, solamente que en la noche cuando uno pide un trago en el lobby del hotello sirven en vasos plásticos. Y la verdad que siendo personas adultas y tratando de disfrutar del momento eso lo opaca. Pero lo mas lamentable es que de un grupo de personas que nos hospedamos, en tres habitaciones distintas , a 1 personade cada una de estashabitacionesnos robaron dinero. Este estaba en la caja de seguridad, ( que de seguridad solo el nombre). Enporta valores.Para que se tenga en cuenta. gracias.

This is the second time we come to the hotel, and love everything there from big spacious rooms to food selection in buffets to their very clean beach. On each of the holidays the stuff does an amazing job decorating the lobby and main restaurant. This place is a great choice for families with children, as the hotel has a lot of activities offered to guests of any age

Just spent the week at Riu Yucatan and we would 100% recommend it to all! The beach was beautiful, the food was always very tasty, and the service was great. We had some issues with the water in our first room turning brown after a few minutes - Customer service gave us a new room the next morning. Our second room was great, even closer to the beach. Our AC stopped working one night, the next day they got someone in and fixed the problem. I can't recommend this place enough. Love that you have the option of going to other Riu Hotels as well. Super great location, and the beach is absolutely stunning and well maintained!

My girlfriend and I absolutely loved this place! Our room was spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and natural, plus there was good variety. The pools and entertainment at the hotel was really fun. There are many animals on the hotel grounds. We would definitely come back again.

Staff are very friendly here. They definitely cater to your needs and concerns well. They clean thoroughly daily I've watched them on hands and knees cleaning couches in the lobby. Rooms are very nice but be prepared to exercise as there is no elevator but the walk up isn't bad. Definitely a nice place to stay, food was also good. I left my tripod in the lobby and they picked it up and held it for me. Love this place

Honestly I would give the resort 4.5, and only because the buffets all tasted the same as far as the seasoning, and the meat was over cooked. That is partially due to the timing as I didn't get there when it was first put out, but there was a bit to be desired. That being said the Mexican and Japanese restaurants that made our food to order was amazing, and the grounds in general including the pool were stunning and the staff from servers to grounds keepers and even the people checking us in were amazing!!! We had a group of 6 with different orders and they took care of it like nothing! I recommend asking for Luis!!

Positivo: praia fenomenal, zona de piscina grande, camas confortáveisNegativo: é impossível usufruir do material para os desportos aquáticos (bodyboard, kayak, etc) à mínima ondulação as atividades são canceladas, para alguém que veio do litoral português onde num dia bom as ondas têm pelo menos 1 metro achei ridículo;não há nada para pessoas de 20 anos, as atividades do hotel são para crianças ou adultos com mais de 50 anos; muito barulho durante o dia por causa das tais atividades; os espetáculos são muito fracos; os animadores homens estão sempre a fazer-se às raparigas e isso é muito desconfortável; há muito marketing agressivo de excursões ; no buffet vês empregados a encher os copos para levar às mesas das pessoas, mas se pedires para te irem buscar guardanapos eles mandam te a ti buscar; no geral os empregados são antipáticos e preguiçosos, parece que estão a fazer um frete ao nos servir; é horrível para grupos grandes pois não facilitam juntar mesas nas refeições; a comida é horrível e de fraca qualidade até nos restaurantes temáticos; é horrível estares a pagar um resort e constantemente ouvires não a tudo; a Internet é mesmo muito lenta; o serviço de toalhas é mau e muitas vezes não há toalhas (num dia de chuva só te deixam trocar a toalha 1 vez); o after hours da comida é a coisa mais nojenta que vi num hotel, é basicamente os restos do jantar num frigorífico com um microondas ao lado; os cocktails não têm qualidade nenhuma, a canalização não é boa, pois a água sai amarelo de vez em quando; também tivemos uma situação em que o nosso voo se atrasou 14 horas e acabamos por chegar no dia seguinte ao suposto por volta das 12h e ainda nos disseram que tínhamos de esperar até às 15h pois os nossos quartos tinham sido ocupados e agora estavam a ser limpos, apesar de termos já pago a noite que não dormimos, depois de um voo de 9h mais 2h de viagem até a Riviera achei de muito mau gostoDe certeza que não vou voltar mais a este hotel quando visitar a Riviera Maya, já estive em Cabo Verde num hotel Riu e a experiência foi incrível, agora com esta acho que vou preferir outras cadeias de hotéis

Were were supposed to go to Hotel Tequila but were switched at the last minute. This resort was dirty and the food was not good. There was no room service and no coffee in the rooms. We had to wash all our clothes as they smelled like mildew. They also had some kind of rats running around the grounds. They told us to ignore them. I have pictures of the rooms and the dirt. There were people fighting and screaming. This went on for about 45 minutes and they would not call the police. We thought someone was going to die! We booked through Great Value Vacations. Para mim um dos hotéis nesta zona mais fantásticos devido a estar na zona de costa e envolvido na floresta e com muitos animais à mistura, comida vai variando de ano para ano em termos de diversidade e qualidade mas tem melhorado já fiquei aqui 4 vezes e vou outra vez este ano para la.

Bom serviço, cômodo e prático, boas opções de restaurantes e bares, só não gostei do local onde tomamos banho, a porta do box é de vidro transparente e para quem dividir o quarto com um colega de trabalho de outra cidade e que nunca nos tínhamos visto antes, pode ser constrangedor tomar banho nu com alguém que você não conhece.

Lovely Resort. Nice Accommodations. Resort Easy to move around in.. it's like a big U shaped Palace. Rooms are spacious with a livin & balcony plus a 6 foot tub when you 1st walk in..the beach was one of the better ones I been to thus far..

I stayed at the Hotel Riu Yucatan for a week in early January and had a great time! But so much can be improved.THE FOOD is the absolute best I have experienced in Mexico, and this is the fourth resort I have stayed at. Everything from the amazing steak a la carte dinner to the dinner buffet (which was not skipped once because it always had something new) was perfect. THE DESSERTS HERE ARE AMAZING! I do not know about any of you, but I have had the worst experience with resort deserts and only normally have the ice creams as the cakes almost seem... gelatinous and airy? for a lack of better terms.THE BEACH is gorgeous! Not rocky at all and can see the coastline of Cozumel just across the water (which can take a ferry too just down the beach). It also has plenty of resorts next to the Rui Yucatan, some of which are also apart of the RIU brand and may allow you to enjoy the buffet, pools, and lounging area. Also, currently, there is a huge issue with seaweed in a lot of southern tropical destinations and the RIU Yucatan was excellent in cleaning the beaches of any seaweed and the beach itself was always super clean.BUT... Some issues I had while there was being RELENTLESSLY approached and asked to purchase things, frequently by the same people multiple times in the same day. It was very tiring after 7 days of being interrupted when having conversations with family or when just trying to take in the beautiful view! Completely understand it is their way of making a living but this is not the answer! Also, this is not a good spot for snorkelling at all. That being said, Cozumel is so close just take the ferry and go for the day!THE ROOM was nothing crazy. It definitely was fine for the week but a few things to mention as the temperature in the room never went below 24 degrees Fahrenheit (event hough thermostat said) so if you are not used to the heat bare in mind THEY DO NOT LET YOU LOWER THE TEMPERATURE even if you are super uncomfortable and cannot sleep. Also, the television channels were really low quality for the most part.THE SERVICE was top notch. Well done! I never felt pressured to tip and everyone was so so nice. Ended up tipping more than initially expected because of the immaculate service. Bartenders and servers were the friendliest of people, and made great caesars!BUT... A hugely upsetting moment in the trip was the moment we arrived (which frankly I feel should be one of the best moments after coming from a long flight and bus ride). At 11 pm when we arrived there was absolutely NO FOOD. NOTHING! So I did not eat anything from 11 am until 9 am the next day when the breakfast buffet opened. The RIU Yucatan was woefully unprepared for late arrival guests. At one point, I was told there was a "snack bar" and oh my, what a pathetic excuse. There was nothing left of what was a "snack bar" which is every night at 10 pm they put sandwiches, some buffet leftovers, and sushi in a fridge that is open practically all evening never able to cool down. I will NEVER COME HERE IF IT MEANS ARRIVING WHEN IT IS DARK. To top it off Sunwing lost my luggage so it really was the worst start to a vacation I have ever had, thankfully found the luggage (Thanks to our Sunwing rep Diego).*To add, my mother has been to this hotel before it was reonovated and BOY DID IT LOOK BETTER BEFORE RENOVATIONS. the hotel lobby is pink... PINK!

Estuve hospedado en pareja en octubre 2019.Le doy 3 estrellas quizá porque estuve en jn palace.Pero sin subjetividades de por medio:Bebidas: 7-8 puntos. Preguntar antes de beber y saber elegir marcas.Instalaciones generales: 8-9 puntosHabitaciones: 6-7 puntos. Falta mantenimiento y son alejadas. Son 2 pisos no hay ascensor para que pueda llegar a precisar.Comida: 5 puntos. La comida no esta buena.Se deben consumir las comidas básicas comunes (pizza, tacos, alguna que otra pasta y/o pescado frito o grill).El resto italiano : 4 puntosEl resto asiatico: 6 puntosEl resto mexicano con reserva: 4 puntosEl steak house: no fuíBuffet (desayuno, cena): 6-7 puntos. En general falta esmero en la elaboración de los alimentos. A veces parecía que la comida “rotaba”.En la piscina / playa. Las hamburguesas son industriales al igual que las salchichas.Las comidas desarrolladas no son buenas.Se puede almorzar el los demás RIU. Tequila pareció mejor el almuerzo buffetDudo si volvería.

Estuvimos alojados la familia y yo en este hotel durante una semana y la estancia fue genial. La comida de los buffetes internacional de calidad y bastante variada.Habían bebidas premium.Estancia en general muy bien. Si encontrara otra oferta nuevamente, volvería.

My experience at the Riu Yucatan was average. The bed was horrible. The rooms were old and not what was described. However the food was amazing and I really enjoyed the staff. I thought it was nice that they made en effort to remember my daughter and always took the time to stop and say hello to her and give her a cuddle. The kids club was "boring" as my daughter said. They just sat in a room and colored. She was in mexico, she wanted to be in the water but they wouldn't let her ! One of the things that I really loved about this place though was the amazing friendly photographers . They were awesome ! They got some amazing shots of us. But $15 American for a digital copy is a bit steep ! Of course we got a few because the skill these photographer have is incredible AND so good with my daughter. If we ever go to Mexico I probably wouldn't stay at this place again but would be willing to try one of their sister hotels as there was some positive !

Not a fancy hotel, rooms are below average.Food is ok.Beach and pool are amazing.Staff are friendly, doing their best , but the reception guys are not that friendly.But the rooms are small, a bit old and have a weird design ( shower door is clear glass door) , makes you feel you are in the year 2001.By the way, there is no room service in the hotel.

This place amazing. As we told the front desk, we had never seen a frown on anyone's face. The staff and entertainment were genuinely nice. A big thank you to Pablo, Luis, Ivan and Steven Seagal (you had to be there). We went for our honeymoon and we are already planning our return. The food was amazing, the grounds were 4ever clean...until Claudia would fed the critters while sitting on our terrace each morning. SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST, the beaches were very well kept and grateful to have had pictures taken which we plan to use for our thank you cards.We got back Tuesday morning and still dreaming of Paradiso.

Excelente.Ideal para gente grande. No hay muchos niños. Por el perfil de los huéspedes si te gustan las actividades de playa no es el que te recomiendo, la gente no se engancha y no armas un partido de volley ni ahí. Pero por ser el de mayor categoría podés ir a los otros Riu donde se arma mas la movida. Incluso podes ir a bailar a la noche al Tequila de enfrente y volver a dormir al silencio de este.La calidad de lacomiday bebidas es genial.No se como son todas las habitaciones pero la mia era super amplia y con un balcón que daba gusto sentarse a tomar algo luego de la playa.

We spent two weeks at the resort. We enjoyed everything from food through the beach to attractions. Resort is clean. Service is extremely nice. Food is very good with lots of different dishes to choose from. Cold sodas supplied everyday in hotel rooms is a sweet move. Pools are clean, one is closer to the beach which makes it a bit packed, the other one is a bit closer to the entrance to the hotel and is less crowded. Everyone can find their preferred spot at the resort. The only thing i didnt like are too many pushy Vendors on the beach. Besides that it was perfect.

As this was my first ever all inclusive trip, I will be disappointed going to any other resort after staying here. An easy 5 stars for me. The staff was extremely friendly, always smiling. The room was clean and well stocked with drinks in the mini fridge. The location of our room was ideal, halfway between the lobby and the beach. We had a lovely view of the jungle with monkeys and coatis in the trees. The food was fabulous, lots of options at all times of the day. Lovely beach with options of staying busy or laying in the sun. We did not spend time at the pools at all. We visited the Riu Tequila and the Playacar, but we both agreed the Yucatan was the best. Aside from the evening entertainment which we preferred at the Tequila. We felt safe walking along the beach into Playa del Carmen. There isn’t much privacy for showers, but my mom and I just took turns staying out on the balcony while the other way showering to provide some privacy. I would most definitely return to this resort.

If you choose to stay at Riu Tequila, Riu Playacar or Riu Yucatan expect to have a wonderful holiday. Whichever hotel you choose you have access to the other two so you can't go wrong! There are a few diffences between them.Riu Tequila is set back from the beach but there is a shuttle buggy that takes you too and from the beach. The walk is less than 5 minutes. It has large pools and a great kids pool. This is definitely the more party hotel with themed nights every Friday, a late night club that anyone from all 3 hotels can use and a sports bar with multiscreens, pool and fussbal.Playacar has the most modern layout of any of the hotels. Two large pools and a fantastic infinity pool bar that has sun on it all day. It leads straight on to the beach. This was our favourite place for lunch. The seafood was excellent. It is the least busy of the three I'd say and has a relaxing feel alongside great entertainment! Including watching the chef carve an ice sculpture or turn a watermelon into a flower.Yucatan has the most jungle in the grounds which is home to wild howler monkeys. There are all sorts of animals roaming all the hotels but we loved seeing the baby monkeys at Yucatan. There are two lovely pools, a pool bar in one area that leads onto the beach. There's also a seperate pool and bar in a chill area that has hammocks and beds with mattresses. The Theatre is by the main pools whereas the other two have the theater connected to the lobby. It means there is an outside bar at night which is lovely.Every hotel provides you with entertainment all day long. It really is excellent and gets everyone involved (unless you don't want to).The food is exquisite in our opinion. There was so much choice every day at the buffet! I love seafood and this place blew my mind. Lobster, crab, prawns, mussels, Sashimi, sushi and more. A real treat. My partner doesn't like fish at all but he always had an excellent meal too with steak on everday, ham, pork, chicken, turkey and of course mexican! There's also always pizza, burgers, chips pasta etc. On top of this you can use the sit in restaurants including Mexican, Steak and Asian. Excellent friendly staff through the restaurants. We liked the touch of having hand sanitiser in and out of the restaurant and all over the hotel.Drinks were amazing! So much choice. Any cocktail you can think of essentialy. Some local some imported spirits. Made excellently by proffesional friendly staff every time. Tip though bring a reusable straw as Riu have stopped using them across all hotels.Room was lovely and always cleaned to an exceptional standard. All the cleaning staff were very friendly too.Reception staff were always very helpful and accommodating.There is good WiFi coverage throughout the hotel including the beach.Mexico is beautiful and we recommend you go on excursions. Just don't bother buying biodegradable lotion or bug spray for swimming with animals or in the cenote as they make you shower before you get in regardless.The weather was gorgeous! Bring plenty of lotion and good tropical insect repellent. Both are hugely expensive here. It was 28c in the shade most days if you found a sun trap I reckon it was late 30c. Our forecast said 6 days of rain when we got there. In two weeks there were two 30min isolated down pours.Playa del carmen is 30/40mins walk from the hotel. Its hot to walk though! We paid $120 pesos from the far side of town back to our hotel. Or we got a taxi for $60-80 pesos to the edge of playacar and just walked in.Playacar is a beautiful, historic gated community. You feel so safe here it is bliss.This holiday is highly recommended by us!! Thank you to everyone at Riu for a wonderful time.

Just returned from 11 days at his hotel - 1 hour on the bus from Cancun airport, overall I would give this a 4 star rating.The main thing that lets this hotel down is the bedrooms - smell of damp in our room, mould on the wall between shower & toilet - no door to the bathroom area.Had to ask twice for our mini bar to be topped up despite it stating this is done every few days - our view from the balcony was a tree!!!The food in the main restaurant was great, always with a good variety however if you wish to make a booking for the Mexican restaurant you have to do this at 7 am in the main restaurant otherwise it is fully booked - took us 7 days before we finally got a booking and to be honest were extremely disappointed with the food and the service. If you have booked a trip normally picked up around 7.30 am - main restaurant doesn't open till 7 - you can access continental breakfast from 6.30 however selection poor and the morning we went at 6.45 there was nothing left.On the plus side it is right beside the beach - plenty of activities to become involved in, the staff were great in keeping you entertained with weekly pool/beach party.Friday nights over at the RUI tequila were always popular.Entertainment at night was a hit or miss - Latino show was great.Having stayed in RUI hotels previously we were disappointed with the Yucatan - upgrading the rooms would be a start and adding a door to the bathroom areas.Not a hotel we would return to.

Me and the family had a great time, even considering the kids were sick during trip. Rooms where nice. We where well taken care of be the house keeping staff. One thing the rooms had no door for the bathing area and no shower curtain. Pool areas and resort grounds where very well taken care of. The beach was immaculate, ground staff raked the beach every morning. Food was very good , however a little plain American type food would have been welcomed by the kids. All and all a great resort with awesome staff. Special thanks to Avaleno or breakfast and lunch waiter, great guy.

Very clean resort, friendly staff. Good variety of food. Close to shops. Night entertainment they have on stage can be really good or really bad. There is also no food/snacks or after 8-9 ish (except for a dirty fridge in lobby which has some leftovers) which sucks if you have a late flight or if it was delayed like ours was. Shower isn’t closed off so would be difficult for families but I think you can ask for a shower curtain. Maid didn’t always stock up our room properly, had to ask multiple times for water. The shorter coffee lady at lobby bar was always rude and would try and change orders to make it easier for her. Happened every morning. Overall still a good place just some things that need updating. Been here a couple years ago and a lot of the same staff!

The amenities are all there, the staff is friendly, the beach is nice, food is good, but... It's hard to see how this hotel is a 5 star. It's old, and it's clear it has seen a lot of traffic.The worst part is that there is no after hours food except for a fridge. If you check in late, and travel with kids, it's a very bad scenario. No food no room service, nothing till the next day.

Muy buen hotel , el personal es muy amable, el servicio es de primera, 100% recomendable, la comida y bebidaes buena ,el único detalle sería que el agua de sus albercas está algo sucia y rampa de la alberca principal está bastanteresbalosa es mejor entrar y salir por las escaleras.la playa está limpia de basura pero con muchas colillas de cigarros, y la gente aparta los camastros por horas sin usarlos. Sin duda regresaría.

An easy 5 star rating for me. We stayed here in May of this year and had a great time. The hotel is clean, welcoming, spacious and has all the ingredients for any family to have a fantastic holiday. There is a choice of 5/6 restaurants. We didn’t get a chance to try “Shanghai” the Asian restaurant but everything else was Fabulous. The “La Hacienda” restaurant was the main place we chose to dine as it is a buffet style restaurant with many different options and so made our dining experience with our soon to be 2 year old less stressful. I really liked this restaurant for both breakfast and dinner as it was superbly air conditioned and not at any point did I feel rushed and the waiters and waitresses were very attentive and often remembered our preferred drinks etc. We often took lunch at La Margarita as this was close to the pool and meant that we could just chuck a t-shirt on, eat and then go back to enjoying the weather. This restaurant got very busy between 1 and 2pm so we decided to eat early most mornings, in order to lunch at about 12:30pm before the rush and often ate quite early of an evening too (6pm). This was just our personal choice but gave us excellent selection and allowed us to enjoy a few drinks of an evening before our little one got tired. There are two pools which were both excellent and a nice temperature. The nearest one to the beach was the adult poor as they would often have exercise classes and other games arranged by the holiday reps. They would encourage you to join in but certainly weren’t overbearing or persistent. There was plenty of time each day to enjoy this pool in your own company if you just wanted to cool down or swim around at your leisure. The other pool is the family pool where the younger ones could splash about, learn to swim and make friends with the others. Our little boy made a couple of friends and we found the hotel to be very friendly. The beach was absolutely stunning. Soft white sand, mile after mile. Unfortunately at the moment many beaches are subject to a lot of seaweed which is being washed up on the shore. From what I’ve read, it’s simply due to climate change where the sea temperature is increasing and killing off much of the seaweed. There is very little that can be done about this from the hotel’s perspective apart from do what they are doing already which is sweeping and raking it up into piles and then getting the tractor and trailer in to remove it from the beach. They try their best to clear it away during off peak times but fear they face a bit of an uphill battle. We had an excellent holiday booked through TUI and would like to return one day.

Have hone to Ríu Yucatán x at least 12 Yrs and I have NEVER been disappointed. My daughter is now 18yrs old and still find this place her 1st Choice Resort 2go!! I believe we'll be there w her friends this coming April. Dreamy location by shore, Clean & on top Maintenance, Calm & Chic Ambiance. GREAT Healthy variety food!!👍🏻, Lovely Hard Working Staff ready 2make your stay a Dream come through!!There are No resorts like the Riu enterprise at Playa del Carmen. Honestly ✋🏼

Just got back from our honeymoon. The room was exactly like the pictures with an open shower and mini fridge stocked up every 2 days. The hotel interior was nice and staff were friendly. This was our first experience all inclusive, and I've got to say I think we prefer self catering and venturing out. We wasnt a fan of the food. The menu never changed really it was the same food every night. And although there is an Italian a Mexican a steak house and Asian la cart restaurants it was the same menu with a choice of 5 options most of which we didn't eat so we ended up eating in the buffet and steak house most nights to the point we kept skipping evening meals and having early nights in our room as the thought of eating the same stuff over and over bored us. We did enjoy the breakfast though! The beach is amazing just be prepared for constant being pestered by sales people as you find anywhere you go on holiday now. So I think apart from the disappointing food quality/options the hotel overall was ok. If we visit the resort again we may try the palace as riu tequila and riu playa car had the same menus. If you are visiting this resort I recommend the Sian kaan trip it was amazing!

Hotel renovado y muy bonito, aunque en mi opinión ha perdido la magia al modernizarlo. La última vez que estuve tenia una ambientación temática Mexicana, que ha perdido completamente. El trato del personal, excelente, aunque no me gusta que los exploten por el mísero sueldo que tienen. Una cadena Española, que aprovecha los sueldos irrisorios de un país para beneficiarse y llenarse los bolsillos. Antes sacábamos el oro de Cancún, ahora sacamos el dinero.... (No hemos cambiado).... Por cierto, los snacks 24h. solo los vimos por las noches después de las cenas y con las sobras de las mismas... Nada de 24h. como dicen en los catálogos, no sé si problema del hotel o problema del Touroperador (joliday), pero no es cierto lo que dicen. Eso sí, recomiendocenar en el Restaurante Mexicano aunque haya que reservar, pero es mucho mejor que el Buffet.

Todo la estancia quedó empañada el día que me ROBARON 40€ de MI CARTERA. Mi palabra contra la de ellos. Ninguna solución y claro,esto el día de la salida (que yano te da tiempo a poner una denuncia). El resto del hotel, evidentemente5* no se puede comparar a un hotel en el estado español:las sábanas sucias,alcohol mediocre,los camareros explotados no saben poner una copa y el hielo es granizado. Los recepcionistas muy educados igual que el resto de trabajadores que no profesionales...buffet que NO LES DEJAN PROBAR...la verdad, que si hubiera puesto un 3 de 5,pero que te roben de tu propia habitación,desde luego que te quitan toda la seguridad que debería dar un hotel. Mal. Muy mal...

Excelentegastronomía y variedad! Vimos muy poco personal en los comedores y desayunadores, era excelentela atención pero muy poca gente para atender. Muchas veces nos íbamos sin ser atendidos. Vi desorganizados los bufet mexicano. Reservamos en 3 mexicanos, parrillada y mediterráneos no me gustaron porq era igual que ir a comer al bufet. Con islas con comidas. Creo que debería ser con un menú pequeño y preparado. Nuestras resevssceran a las 21hs y debíamos esperar que repo gas las islas de alimento.Tiene una selva muy grande con muchas especies. Las fuentes con peches creo que deberían ser limpiadas con mayor periodicidad. Se veían corchos musgo papeles etc. Las habitaciones muy amplias super cómodas siempre las encontrábamos muy limpias y ordenadas. Excelente hotel!!!!

Los batidos de plátano y crema de coco con leche sin lactosa que me hacían el favor de hacarme super buenos.La comida mucha cantidad y variedad aunque casi todos los días muchas de las cosas se repiten,.pero no pasa nada porque el bufet es muy grande. Los jugos naturales en los desayunos son la vida, mi favorito el verde, de nopal, zumo de naranja, espinaca, apio y perejil.El bufet margarita tiene vistas a la playa, es una gozada. La habitación impecable y muyyyy amplia con balcon, tuvomos suerte de tener vistas a la naturaleza. La nevera de la habitación a nuestra disposición y hay plancha, paraguas, secador del.pelo... En el.hotel hay monos, coaties y conejos sin orejas que son muy guays! Los cocoteros aqui y allá una maravilla.El mar transparente con arena blanca y muchos peces.La unica pega el aire acondicionado que se pasan de altisimo , pero no sólo en el hotel sino en todos los lugares (tiendas, buses, vans, aeropuerto de Cancún...)Contratamos con scuba caribe que esta dentro del hotel, para hacer snorkel con tortugas... nos.dijeron que un 98% las veriamos y que raro era el día que no se veían... no sé si fue casualidad o no ya que el que nos atendió iba a comisión... al menos vimos mantas raya.He echado de menos que hubieran cocos para tomar o comer, sólo el día del coco que se ofreció nos pilló de excursión. Pude tomar fuera del hotel pero no encontré ni un trozo de coco para probar, no sé si no se acostumbra o que yo no encontré.En conclusión excelente hotel y servicio. Lo mejor la gente que trabaja en el.hotel que no dejan de limpiar y siempre atendiendote con una sonrisa, merecen todos mis respetos y sin ellos la estancia no hubiera sido así de maravillosa.

Bajo muchisimo la calidad. Buena animación. Comida siempre la misma. Ya no te atienden como antes desde que cambiaron la imagen me decepciono si vas almorzar tenes que servirte todo desde los cubiertos hasta las bebidas. 3 días reclamando por favor que me repongan el jabón. En los baños de las habitaciones no tenes privacidad si te duchas se ve todo. Y en el caso mío que mis hijos tienen 21 y 19 años tuvieron que tapar con toallones ya no te ponen amenities. No aceptan el pago en doláres solamente con tarjeta de crédito o moneda local. La playa es excelente siempre y cuando no haya algas. En una semana que estuve no pude ingresar al mar tuve que ir a la pileta porque el agua estaba marrón.

Ubicación genial, El servicio, la gente muy amable y acogedora, pero para mí gusto el hotel necesita actualizarse, me hizo falta variedad de restaurantes, la calidad dela comida no es muy buena.....Luego los servicios dentro del Hotel, peluquería, masaje, se pasan son más caros que en Madrid.... Recomiendo salir fuera a playa del Carmen, es zona turística y nada peligroso como nos hacen creer las agencias de viajes y el hotel.. podéis pedir un taxi que no es caro

Un hotel de 5 estrellas, instalaciones limpias cómodas y con buena comida, parte de una cadena de hoteles y que se encuentra dentro del complejo PLAYACAR, comparte instalaciones como lo es el club de playa del hotel RIU TEQUILA, el cual es sin duda uno de los mejores, el Yucatan cuenta con piscinas amplias al igual que snakers con ricos antojos que pudieran parecer comidas, bares ycerxa de la playa, solo un detalle, hay que tener control de los alimentos, pero con respecto a que no todas las personas o comensales cumplen con la higiene para la toma de alimentos, sin duda un lugar para disfrutar, descansar y divertirse. #LetsGuide

Un 10 para el personal que trabaja en el hotel.La comida muy muy buena.Las instalaciones muy cuidadas y bastante nuevas o reformadas.No le doy 5 estrellas por la bebida, refresco de manguera de muy baja calidad, cerveza muy mala, y alcohol malo en general.Sería genial que el refresco fuese al menos de lata.

El hotel hermoso muy buena atención muy buena la comida y bebidas, las habitaciones son lindas . En lo que no estoy de acuerdo es en que no pongan música para bailar en sector depiscinas , solo ponen música lenta porque a los europeos les molesta y no pueden dormir la siesta (por favor están de vacaciones) otra cosa a las 12 de la noche apagan las luces y solo quedan las de la barra del lobi de entrada obvio que sin música.... En fin un hotel para gente grande que solo duermen . Me quedo toda la vida con punta cana en república dominicana . Riu república a ese le doy 100 puntos en todooooo

My wife and I had the greatest time. The beach is beautiful and most days the water was clear enough to see the bottom. The hotel was excellent! All of the hotel staff were friendly, the food is excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Our favorite part of the morning was the jungle outside of our balcony. Nearly every day we would find monkeys playing in the treetops as we would sit on our private balcony. I must say the perfect day is sleeping in, eating whenever we want and as much as we want, laying out on the beautiful beach and enjoying the sun. We can't wait to go back. Loved every minute of it. My first time visit to a RIU Hotel. The expectations matched reality, staff is utmost friendly and helpful. The resort is packed with everything you can wish for, two à la carte restaurants and one buffet restaurant. All within the all-inclusive formula. The hotels rooms are very clean, modern and spacious. We even got a welcome call on the day of our arrival, to check if everything was alright! And it was.

Just a quick review this one. It's the sister hotel of the RIU Tequila where we stayed in Mexico. It's right on the beach and seems to be of a similar standard to the Tequila.They do have more variety in food (I didn't actually think that was possible) and the bar and pool areas have direct beach access, as does the restaurant.This is where the Mexican restaurant for both hotels is.Finally I've seen a good few beach activities (A sports day like at school, beach volleyball etc) while down at the beach.Photos are mine, taken at the beach.

Its not as fancy as i thought based on the pics that i had seen, but...it was a nice hotel. The all you can drink all you can eat was great. They even have an alcohol dispenser in the rooms. They haveral several free activities includedwith hotel stay. Xcaret and other parks are only about a 15 min drive. One suggestion........you can buy you're excursions at the hotel...every morning agents show up at the hotel, they are all the same price but if you book 3 different parks you get free transportation.This hotel is so close to jungle....outside in the trees you see monkeys, parrots and othe unique animals...pretty amazing.Overall this was a good hotel. People were nice, good was good...safe area and it does cater to an older crowed in my opinino

For everyone reading the reviews for this site on TripAdvisor and other dedicated review sites, take them with a grain of salt. Some of the staff go around and make people give them five stars. However it's not a bad resort at all. The hotel is pretty nice and it's always clean from the rooms to the restaurants. The only thing I dislike about this place is the nightly entertainment. They have one show at 9:30 and that's it. Most are not very good.

Great hotel. The staff make this place. The service was great. Food at most of the restaurants was good apart from the Mexican which seemed quite poor in comparison to all the others.One of our party was in a wheelchair, the ground level rooms are all accessible, but I don’t know if any of them contain accessible bathrooms (might be worth checking with hotel reception/reservations) pretty much the whole hotel was accessible with ramps etc. Ramp down to the beach with loungers close by if you want to sit down. We saw a few other wheelchair users so it seems to be fine for most.

I was here in December for the wedding of my long time best friend. It's a medium sized resort split into two different concepts. One thing I loved about it was the natural space they kept in the middle of the property. Lots of trees and native species to photograph. Overall the food and service were good, it's got a deep and long beach and it was clean. we It's also, as many resorts in the area are, a quick trip to Playa del Carmen for a day or night out.

Very polite service at this hotel, nice rooms, nice walking distance from all the amenities. Food is wonderful, and many options for vegetarians, pescatarians, and meat lovers at every available restaurant. Entertainment is very good in the evening, as well as during the day, whether you like staying at the pools or on the beach. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

Stayed here many years ago a d it was great but visited it again while staying at the Palace Mexico and found many changes. Unfortunately those changes were not to our liking. There are more buildings now and the pkace feels a bit claustrophobic.Not that impressed with the bar set up either. Never the less it is a Riu hotel and they give good value. Personally I would, and have spent a bit more and went with the Palace.....fantastic!

Horrible service the manger from the buffet restaurant was so rude and he made me get out of the buffetjust because I was wearing sandals. On 08/22 he didn’t even let me eat my meal in peace! I had to leave my food on the table and go back to my room and change my sandals. Never ever staying in this hotel. They need to train there employees on how to talk to other person especially a guest on vacation. Like they said a hotel is a home away from home. I didn’t feel that way After this manager spoke to me in that tone.

This resort is ok. The rooms are very basic with not many amenities at all. The food was ok in my mind and wish that the labels better defined what the food is so I don't have to waste so much. I don't think I'd come back to this resort if I came back to the area but itgood for a one time trip. I do want to complement the staff. They are all very friendly and accommodating.

We booked a last minute trip here for some winter sun and were not disappointed. We have had lovely weather and a great time. The hotel staff are great and work really hard to make you feel welcome and looked after.We read all the reviews on wether tipping was or wasn't expected and how much etc would be appropriate. We decided to tip, leaving something for the maid each day, we were greeted with a different towel animal each day upon our return to our room. We also tipped the waiting staff at breakfast and evening meal each day and the bar tenders every couple of drinks. Its not a fortune but they definitely appreciated it.The food here is fresh and tasty, the entertainment staff do their best to put on a daily programme of activities. We would come back.

An all inclusive hotel! On the beach, lots of trees for shadow and a decent amount of huts and cabanas for shade. There are 3 pools one of them being a bar pool with tables and an overhead sun shade. They have a good range of foods to pick from from local to Americanized foods. Steaks and fish/shrimp are generally available too. The rooms are simple but effective and your mini fridge will have Pepsi, beer, wine, soda water and water available as part of your stay. Oh and the 4 large bottles of liquor too.. The staff are friendly and the barkeeps are amazing!

Excelente hotel. Me pareció mas moderno y cuidado que el Riu caribe, aunque peor ubicado (digo "peor ubicado" porque la zona hotelera donde está el Riu Caribe me gustó mucho). Me llamó la atención que tenia animales sueltos por los jardines del hotel. Es de esos hoteles en los que tienes que caminar mucho para ir de un sitio a otro y si llueve te mojas porque las habitaciones están muy dispersas. La comida excelente y la playa a un paso.

Como en casa, no se puede decir otra cosa, desde que entras por la recepción, re reciben con un cocktail buenísimo, ya te tienen todo preparado solo para firmar y ponerte la pulsera, a partir de ahí, todo es disfrutar. El servicio de restaurantes y bares están 24h abiertos, puedes comer durante todo el día. Un restaurante italiano, uno buffet continental, uno de comida japonesa, otro mexicano y otro de carne, todos con gran variedad. Las instalaciones están siempre limpias, un batallón de personas limpian el hotel y habitaciones, jardines y la playa, de esto último quiero puntualizar que el sargazo es un problema gordo para todo el Caribe y que este hotel saca todas las mañanas seis o siete personas más un tractor a dejar la playa perfecta, mejor imposible. Cabe destacar por mi parte, la atención prestada por Rogelio en el bar Mezcal y de Santos en el bar Cozumel, este último increíble el trabajo que saca el solo en el bar de la piscina y siempre con una sonrisa en la cara. Lei algunos comentarios negativos acerca de la animación del hotel y que decir que más que excelente, tienen el Riu fin, animación para niños todo el día sin contar con la animación para adultos en la piscina, en la playa... Pero siempre genial. Tambien decir que tiene mucha vida salvaje que ante todo, la protegen. Cuando vuelva a este maravilloso país, volveré sin duda a este hotel, nos ha encantado, la situación, la gente, la atención, la limpieza... Todo, hotel de 10!!

Decepción, pensaba que iba a un gran hotel y resulta que en España puede ser uno de dos estrella, simplemente no deja ser apartamentos,comida Buffet aceptable habitaciones muy muy simples, viejas, rotas y llenas de grietas mal parcheadas , las fotos lo corroboran, empleados siempre atentos pero a la misma vez un poco de cara como enfadados, cosa que no noto hacia los gringos, así llaman a los americanos, ingleses, holandeses, bueno a todo de no habla hispana, más de lo mismo la animación dirigidas a ellos, muchas veces no te preguntaban para alguna actividad, se limitaban a pasar por delante tuyo y adiós. Piscina grande, un día la pillamos a primera hora, muy muy sucia, Algo muy positivo es tener la playa al lado era espectacular dejar la hamaca e irte a la playa. Si tenéis posibilidad, busquen algo más superior, pero confirme que lo vale. si te a ayudado mi reseña ya sabes 👍

Amazing hotel, will definitely come back. The staff are so lovely and friendly. The food is beautiful especially the Mexican and steak restaurant. Rooms cleaned daily and even got champagne and cake on our birthday and our last day with balloons and flowers on the bed. The beach is beautiful and the entertainment team are great. This was our second trip to Riu Yucatan. The complex is is very nice and right on the beach. There is a huge pool on one side of the complex and a quieter pool called Ibiza near the hotel reception.Wild life is a plenty and lovely seeing them in there own habitat.Evening entertainment is extremely good and all alcohol is the genuine deal and not your usual local drinks.Rooms have iron & ironing board plus a big umbrella in case of any showers and also a safe.Rooms are a nice size with fridge but no kettle for tea or coffee so I would recommend you take a travel kettle with you..Cleaners do some incredible.towel art that are left on your bed. Leave a small tip and they do something new each day..

Recently got back from our two weeks holiday here. This is a fantastic hotel, staff are all lovely and friendly. Hotel serves great food .... Wide selection of different foods always something different even for fussy eaters.Super clean throughout, lovely bedrooms, always cleaned well and bedding changed regularly with towels. Stunning gardens with lots of nature here including howler monkeys, large guinea pigs, racoon type animals as well as the hotel cat.Swimming pools very clean, never an issue at getting a sunbed, always plenty and also lots of beds at the beach too. Beach very clean, flat, beautiful white sand, no rocks. Daytime entertainment was very good and fun, evening entertainment was good but not too noisy.Entertainment here finished at about 11pm but if you wanted more you can use the other two hotels Riu Tequela or Riu Playacar. Riu Tequela has its own night club called Pasha but music was not the best as it was all Mexican music.We would definitely recommend and would go back here without a doubt.

Un complejo de 5* situado a pocos cientos de metros de Playa del Carmen.Es un hotel pequeño, ideal para parejas que buscan sol y playa junto a la cercanía al núcleo urbano.El hotel es muy correcto en su oferta de servicios. La amabilidad de sus empleados se encuentra a en la línea del servicio de México , atentos y resolutivos.El tramo de playa es muy bueno, por la misma se puede acceder hasta Playa del carmen.El único "pero" es que te retiran la pulsera al realizar el check oír y te privan de un recuerdo valioso.

Very impressed with this resort..we have been to many all inclusive resorts in Cancun and this one by far had the best food.we loved the whole resort..it's not too spread out, so there isn't a ton of walking to do to get from one end to the other. The rooms are definitely not the best but the rest of the resort more than makes up for it! The beach area is fantastic..we've stayed at a couple of resorts in the Maya riveria that had very Rocky beach areas, so much so that water shoes were a must. That is not the case here..very Sandy Beach and water. We will be returning here next year 😁

The staff was really great. There are two main pools plus a quiet one close to the Looby. The rooms run a bit small but who spends time in their room in this place. They have food available all day, shows everything night and fun events sometimes combined with the other hotels near by. Good for family or singles.

We have been to this hotel four times now and we love it here, its clean and the staff are so kind and helpful would highly recommend. Cant wait to go back again.

One of the best beaches I have ever been to. The water is crystal clear and sand is very clean. Riu Yucatan is a beautiful resort, the lobby is grand and spacious. The rooms are basic. Food was amazing and lots of variety!

Muy buena opción, pero no es para relajarse, hay distancias largas entre lugares al interior del complejo y no hay transporte interno, sólo un restaurante es de reservación, la comida tiene buen sazón, pero después de algunos días es repetitiva. Recomiendo ir con all inclusive, si no tu experiencia podría no ser agradable.
